3 of the Most Expensive Buildings in UAE

3 of the Most Expensive Buildings in UAE
In an effort to expand and flourish as rapidly as possible, the United Arab Emirates has constructed several of the world's most costly structures.

1. The Emirates Palace Abu Dhabi, UAE $3 billion
Located in Abu Dhabi was launched in December of 2001. The architectural design was originally done by John Elliot of WATG Architects in collaboration with Reza Rahmanian of HDC Architects.

Opened in February of 2005, the 5-star hotel’s design incorporates a mix of Islamic architectural elements such as geometry, proportion, balance, rhythm, and hierarchical emphasis with modern methods of design and construction. In addition to the major dome, there are 114 smaller domes distributed throughout the structure. Even the color of the building was inspired by different shades of sands found in the Arabian Desert.

Emirates Palace is home to 394 residences, made up of 92 suites and 22 residential suites. These residences are spread out across two wings alongside a primary central building. Most of the suites are of gold and marble furnishing, with the main building holding a sprawling marble floor and a large decorated dome above it, picked out in gold. The penthouse floor itself has six Rulers' Suites which are exclusively reserved for royalty and royalties.

The hotel also houses 2 spa facilities, a ballroom that accommodates up to 2500 people, more than 40 meeting rooms, a 1.3 km long beach, a marina, 2 helicopter landing pads, different luxury shops, and several international restaurants.

There are also around 200 fountains, a 24-hour butler service, and the hotel boasts of having hosted notable personalities such as Bill Clinton, Robert De Niro, Will Smith, and Michael Jackson.

2. Princess Tower, Dubai, UAE – US$2.17b
This building comes in at No 11 on the list of the world’s costliest buildings.  The Princess Tower is Dubai’s third tallest building with 107 floors and was built at US$2.17b (Dhs7.9b). The Marina-based skyscraper was completed in 2012 and for a short time, held the distinction of being the tallest residential building in the world, before being dethroned of that titled by 432 Park Avenue in New York in 2015.
The 413.4m (1,356ft) tall building is currently the only skyscraper located in the Marina district of Dubai that is wholly a residential only building.
The building boasts of 763 units with 957 underground parking bays spread across six floors, and eight retail shops. The building was completed and delivered by its developer, Tameer Holdings; in September 2012 has107 stories and includes basement floors, a ground floor, and 100 levels above ground.

Indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a fully functional gymnasium, various gaming rooms, a children's play area, sauna, steam room, fitness studio, banqueting hall, and a 97th-floor Observation Deck with Wi-Fi access are all available in the structure.
3. Burj Khalifa, Dubai, UAE – US$1.5b
As the world’s tallest building, standing proudly at 829.8 m (2,716.5 ft), one would assume that it would also be the world’s most expensive building; but that isn’t the case because Dubai’s and world’s tallest building is only the third most expensive building in the UAE and the nineteenth in the world. However, the Burj Khalifa still boasts of two other records of being the tallest free-standing structure in the world as well as having the highest number of stories in the world.

The building is so tall that it would take 36 workers four months to clean all the tower’s 24,348 windows manually. Building maintenance units, such as custom-made machines that move on fixed rails along the Burj Khalifa's façade, are used to clean down from the 160th level. Even so, the procedure takes two to three months, with certain isolated places still being cleaned using the old rope-access approach.

The Burj Khalifa is one of Dubai’s and the UAE’s most iconic structures and continues to attract visitors to the Emirati of Dubai.
The authorities of Dubai and the UAE aren’t in any way shy of spending the big bucks when it comes to developing their cities. With a future that promises to transform Dubai into one of the most modern cities in the 21st century and beyond; one can be rest assured that many more of their future structures are going to make the list of the world’s most expensive buildings. For now, we let these take our breath away.
