How to Make Stickers Without a Printer

How to Make Stickers Without a Printer

Just like your destiny, how beautiful and bright your sticker would come out is in your hands. If you are creating your sticker design all by yourself, we need your entire room of creativity to make this pop. Perhaps, all you had ever known was a conventional sticker which would require a good printer to have your work of art done with ease, and yes, from the comfort spot of your space; however, today, I will be sharing with you some other measures to how you can design and create a nicely done sticker without the aid of a printer.

Items required to make a Sticker

  • Packing Tape.
  • Thin Paper.
  • A pair of scissors.
  • Parchment or Wax paper.
  • Drawing and Colouring items like Pencils, Pen, Marker, etc.

METHOD 1

Making your stickers with Tape

Have in mind what you intend to have as a sticker. This could range from cutting out an image from a glossy magazine or journal down to deploying your professional artistic skill to use. Since the latter requires more detail than just snipping an object of art with a pair of scissors, let me guide you in drawing it out.

  • Use your drawing tools on the thin paper [use thin paper to avoid possible air bubbles] to bring out your design.
  • Snip through the edges carefully to cut out the design from thin paper.
  • Cut a portion of the packing tape slightly bigger in size than the design and apply it to the parchment/wax paper.
  • Place your carefully done design on the packing tape neatly.
  • Cut out another same size of tape as before and place it just on top of the design to guarantee the same dimension.
  • With the aid of a ruler or coin, ensure there are no air bubbles in between for a clean job.
  • Cut out your design neatly while avoiding too many extras around and your good to go.
  • When you need to apply your new design, simply remove parchment paper/wax from the tape and apply.

METHOD 2

Making Glue Stickers

Just as advised in the first method, have your design in mind since you are the Picasso in this game, and should you consider lifting from a magazine or journal, it is totally up to you; simply ensure it is nicely cut out without missing the details. Since we would be making our glue ourselves, there is a need to first guide you on the steps before we proceed with the design of stickers. Ok, let's get started.

Kindly note that this glue is the type found on envelope flaps therefore it is safe to use even by kids.

Find yourself a bowl and include few teaspoons of water, plain gelatine, 1 tablespoon of sugar, flavour and thoroughly mix till you have a good blend. Scoop into an airtight container and refrigerate to let the glue gel after about 6 hours and liquefy it by putting the container in a bowl of hot water. Ok, let's move on.

  • Let your pen and another drawing/colouring tools do the work as your creative mind directs.
  • Flip the back of your work of art and apply glue neatly on the surface using a brush.
  • Ensure the glue goes round to the edge of your design and then allows it to dry.
  • Store your design/work of art in a cool plastic bag till the time of need.
  • When in need, just like your envelope flaps, lick the surface and press firmly on the intended surface. That’s all!

As stated earlier, you are the determinant of how well your sticker turns out. I know you could make some fair enough stickers initially, however, with time and inclusion of extra details [like the glitters] your sticker would come out just perfect.
