On Monday, October 4, 2021, many users reported having trouble logging into Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram due to a global outage on these digital sites. 

Facebook and its apps, including Instagram and WhatsApp, were inactive for several hours on Monday, disrupting a critical communications network used by billions of people and showing how dependent the world is on companies under increasing scrutiny. 

However, the consequences are far-reaching and devastating. With SMS, live streaming, virtual reality, and many other digital services, Facebook has established itself as a major platform. Facebook is associated with the Internet in some countries, such as Myanmar and India. More than 3.5 billion people use Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp to interact with friends and family, spread political messages, and grow their businesses through advertising and outreach. 

This time, Facebook said Monday night, the culprit was turned into the underlying internet infrastructure that coordinates traffic between its data centers. This disrupted communications and spread to other data centers, "interrupting our services," the company said. 

Facebook finally restored service after a team gained access to its server computers at a data center in Santa Clara, California, three people familiar with the matter said. So they can recover it. 

What was the impact of the blackout? 
For many people, losing access to Facebook services is simply an inconvenience. However, for some small businesses in poor countries that do not have other reliable means of communicating with consumers, this may be a major concern. 

 Similarly, some organizations rely on WhatsApp to keep in touch with employees who continue to work remotely due to the outbreak. 

 What is the total amount of money Facebook lost due to the recent blackout? 
The impact on Facebook's earnings and share price is perhaps the company's most significant concern. Due to the outage, ads were not served for more than six hours across all its platforms. 

Downtime may have cost Mark Zuckerberg up to $6 billion (£4.4 billion) by some estimates, with Facebook shares plunging nearly 5%. 
Others predict the company will lose more than $60 million in revenue.

Facebook has been making headlines recently for all the wrong reasons. Evidence from the whistleblower shows that Cambridge Analytica used personally identifiable information on up to 87 million Facebook users to influence voter sentiment. Even though Cambridge Analytica obtained the data illegally, Facebook was reprimanded for failing to protect the privacy of its users.  Initially, WeChat started as a messaging app rather than a popular social networking platform but has grown over time. WeChat has evolved into a social network similar to Facebook. Expect WeChat to thrive as more and more Facebook users are dissatisfied with the service.

After the trending social networking app implemented some content restrictions, Tumblr's active users have plummeted over the past few years. It's worth noting that today's Tumblr is more welcoming to a young audience and specialist fandom.

This stands out as a more secure WhatsApp option. For brand sites, the messaging social media app is constantly improving its features, including feeds and the possibility of groups. You can also transfer large files and use features not available in other programs.

Medium: This is an area where you can let go. Even if that`s not an actual motto, you get the idea. Medium attracts both companies and people who want to share their thoughts on leadership ideas, inner thoughts, and anything else they think the world should know.
